Our Cabernet Franc and Carignan come from sectors of this sub-valley with very different soils but with two conditions in common: the cool climate and dry-farmed vineyards.
The 16-year-old Cabernet Franc is planted on red granitic soils that are 80 cm (31.5 in) deep with degraded rock below. This restricts root growth, balances vine vigor, and delivers higher quality to the wine.
Production Cabernet Franc: 7 ton/ hectare
The 51-year-old Carignan comes from deeper, sandier soils, which results in tremendously balanced wines.
Production Carignan: 8 ton/ hectare
